To facilitate change in a school, coaching must be directive, collaborative, and reflective. Coaches will provide important information directly to principals to improve instructional practices and guide the school improvement process. Coaches will collaborate with school leaders to determine the best course of action. Principals will engage in a professional learning community with colleagues to provide opportunities for critical thinking and reflection. Teachers will participate in a professional learning community to foster collective efficacy and optimism.
